The Future of Sports Cars

When it comes to choosing a brand new car, who doesn’t look at the higher end of thespectrum first, just to whet the appetite? When it comes to sweet-looking sports cars, everyone wants to cruise down the street, gaining admiring looks from those they pass, tunes blaring and a seriously smug look on the face!

Whilst it used to be down to the extremely rich to be the proud owners of sports cars, these days there are more and more models which are falling into more affordable categories. Don’t get me wrong, you’re not going to be able to afford one without a bit of shrewd thinking or serious saving, but it is within grasp.

The new generation of sports cars, such as the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 are not only easy on the eye, but easier on the environment, and vastly improved in terms of fuel consumption, making it a win-win situation. However, if you don’t have a million or so to spend, then BMW have launched the BMW i8.

The BMW i8 is the latest model to hit the market, and one that was used in the Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol movie, making it seriously coveted by motor enthusiasts and film buffs alike. With its seriously swanky appearance, with a two door coupe style, the BMW i8 looks unique and is also big on performance.

You’ll probably be aware of the environmental and fiscal benefits of choosing a hybrid engine car, and the BMW i8 is no different, with a fast hybrid engine giving a smooth and speedy performance. Despite all this, you could be forgiven for thinking that you’re looking at one of the higher end sports cars cost-wide, but it’s not necessarily the case, as the BMW i8 comescosts a lot less to the other hybrid super cars we mentioned earlier. It’s still by no means a cheap car, but BMW do offer an i3, which is a small little hatchback, suitable for city driving.

Of course, with a BMW you know you’re getting quality for money and serious performance, because the name speaks for itself, and you only have to browse the full range of BMW car models to see the huge range on offer – the reviews speak volumes.

So, when it comes to purchasing your new car, think fuel consumption costs before you jump, because a hybrid engine could be the answer to your pocket prayers. If you can add in a fantastic looking little number, such as the BMW i8, to give you those admiring glances and serious performance, then really, it would be rude not to!
